Secret Shame: I once cosplayed Skunk Kusai from the 1980 Astro Boy anime

Hi there! My name is Fauna, and I've been an Astro Boy fan ever since elementary school. One summer night in 2007, I discovered that Astro Boy had an American-made comic series, and upon finding my own copies of some issues, everything changed.

I had made a series of reviews of each NOW! Comics issue from 2007-2010, but I knew nothing about the background of the series, and I was 14 when I started writing, so the articles wound up being extremely snarky and over-dramatic. I've spent so much time researching and collecting this series that I don't want it to just be known through those reviews. So, I've started this site to put everything in a professional atmosphere.

I think the NOW! Comics version of Astro Boy is extremely important, since it does count as an incarnation of the series, and its story is largely untold. I've been researching it on-and-off  for nearly a decade, and there's still details I still don't know. Reading the comics, one gets the feeling that there was promise at one point; people at NOW! really wanted Astro Boy to succeed in North America. There was visible strain among members of the creative team, and I feel like their stories need to be told.

This long forgotten series - both among Astro's spin-offs and NOW! Comics's titles - will finally have its own site to call home. Shine on, you insane comic book.
